About US

Hobie Fleet 126 is an amateur sailing club located in Michigan City, Indiana that sails off of Washington Park Beach on Lake Michigan. The club was established in 1976 and its charter was reinstated in 2019 by the Hobie Cat Association of North America (HCANA).  Hobie Fleet 126 is in Hobie Class Division 10 and is part of the global Hobie family.  

We are a diverse group of fun seekers who enjoy the beach, water and the Hobie Way of Life.  Our members are all ages and come from all backgrounds.  Some of our members have never sailed before and are just learning while some of our members are race experienced veterans who have competed at Hobie Regional, National and World Championship regattas.

All are welcome.  Come join us at Washington Park Beach in Michigan City, IN.  You will not regret it.  No boat required.     

The primary purposes of Hobie Fleet 126 are:

   1. To promote and develop Hobie Cat sailing and racing under uniform rules and regulations;

   2. To enhance the Hobie Class Association of North American (HCANA);

   3. To promote and grow Hobie Fleet 126 and sailing locally;

   4. To promote and teach sportsmanship;

   5.  To have fun. (We Make Fun Happen!).

HOBIE FLEET 126 INC, doing business as Hobie Fleet 126, is a not-for-profit Corporation as described in the Indiana Nonprofit Corporation Act of 1991, IC 23-17(1-31) and is registered with the Indiana Secretary of State on July 14, 2020.
